Getting Started

How quoting works, what we buy, and how to begin.

How do I get a quote for my golf balls?

Fill out the quick form on our homepage with the brands, approximate quantity, and condition of your golf balls. We respond with a no-obligation quote within 24 hours. You can also email us directly at sales@sellmygolfballs.com if you prefer.

Is there a minimum number of golf balls I need to sell?

No strict minimum. Most competitors require 5,000+ balls, but we work with sellers of all sizes. Whether you have a bucket of 50 or a garage full of 10,000, we want to hear from you. That said, the more balls you have, the more cost-effective shipping becomes, which often means a better per-ball price for you.

What brands do you buy?

We buy every golf ball — Titleist, Callaway, TaylorMade, Bridgestone, Srixon, Vice, Kirkland, Top Flite, Pinnacle, Noodle, and everything in between. If it's a golf ball that isn't cracked or waterlogged, we want it. Check our golf ball value guide for more info.

What condition do the golf balls need to be in?

We accept golf balls in all conditions — from near-mint balls that look barely played to scuffed, discolored, or lake balls. Better condition balls are worth more, but we find value in almost everything. See our value guide for details on how condition affects pricing.

How long does it take to get a quote?

We typically respond within 24 hours, often faster during business hours. If you submit your form on a weekend, expect to hear back by Monday.

Is the quote binding? Am I obligated to sell?

Not at all. Our quotes are completely no-obligation. If the price works for you, great — we'll send you a free shipping label and get the process rolling. If not, no hard feelings.

What does the full process look like from start to finish?

It's four simple steps: you tell us what you have, we send a quote, you ship for free using our prepaid label, and we pay you within 48 hours of receiving the balls. Our How It Works page has a detailed walkthrough of each step.

Do I need to sort my golf balls before selling?

Nope. Just send them as a mix — we handle all the sorting on our end. No need to separate by brand, model, or condition. Just box them up and ship.

Shipping & Packaging

How to ship your golf balls, who pays, and packaging tips.

Who pays for shipping?

We do — always. Once you accept a quote, we email you a prepaid UPS shipping label. You never pay a penny to ship your golf balls to us.

How should I pack my golf balls?

Use any sturdy box or boxes. Golf balls are heavy, so double-check that the box can handle the weight. No special padding is needed — golf balls are pretty tough. Just make sure the box is sealed well with packing tape. Liquor store boxes and banana boxes from grocery stores work great since they're designed for heavy items.

How many golf balls fit in a box?

A standard medium moving box holds about 200–300 golf balls depending on size. A heavy-duty 18×18×18 box can hold around 400–500. We recommend keeping boxes under 50 pounds for easier handling and to avoid UPS surcharges. If you have a large quantity, it's better to use multiple boxes.

Where do I drop off my package?

Any UPS location, UPS Store, or UPS drop box. You can also schedule a free UPS pickup from your home or office — just let us know and we can help coordinate that.

Can UPS pick up the package from my house?

Yes. UPS offers home and business pickups. Let us know you'd like a pickup when you accept the quote, and we'll include pickup instructions with your label.

Can I send multiple shipments?

Absolutely. If your collection doesn't fit in one box or you want to sell in batches, we'll provide multiple labels. Just let us know how many you need.

How long does shipping usually take?

UPS Ground typically takes 2–5 business days depending on your location. We're based in Athens, GA, so East Coast shipments arrive fastest.

Will I get a tracking number?

Yes. Your prepaid UPS label comes with a tracking number so you can follow your shipment every step of the way. We also monitor incoming packages on our end and will confirm receipt.

Payment

How and when you get paid.

How fast will I get paid?

Within 48 hours of us receiving and verifying your shipment. In most cases, payment goes out the same day we open your box.

What payment methods do you offer?

PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, or bank wire. Just tell us your preference when you accept a quote and we'll send payment through your chosen method.

Can you pay by check?

We don't currently offer checks because digital payments are faster and more reliable. PayPal, Venmo, and Zelle are all free to receive and funds are available immediately.

What if the actual balls differ from what I described?

If there's a significant difference between your description and what we receive, we'll reach out to discuss an adjusted offer. You always have the option to have the balls shipped back at no cost if we can't agree on a price. We never keep your balls without your consent.

Are there any fees deducted from my payment?

No. The quote we give you is the amount you receive. We don't deduct shipping costs, handling fees, or anything else. What we quote is what you get.

What if I have a problem with my payment?

Email us at sales@sellmygolfballs.com and we'll resolve it quickly. We take payment issues seriously and aim to fix any problem the same day you contact us.

Do I need to report this income on my taxes?

We're not tax advisors, so we recommend consulting a professional. In general, income from selling personal property may be taxable depending on your situation. We do not issue 1099 forms unless required by law.

Golf Ball Conditions & Grading

How we assess condition and what different grades mean.

How do you grade golf ball condition?

We use a five-tier grading system: Mint (looks new), Near Mint (minimal signs of play), Good (light scuffs or minor discoloration), Fair (noticeable wear but fully playable), and Practice/Shag (heavy wear). Our golf ball value guide has photos and detailed descriptions of each grade.

Do you buy scuffed or discolored golf balls?

Yes. Scuffed and discolored balls are graded lower and priced accordingly, but we still buy them. The only balls we can't use are ones that are cracked, waterlogged to the point of being soft, or have chunks of the cover missing.

Do you buy lake balls?

Yes, we buy lake balls. Balls that have been submerged can lose some performance, so they're typically graded lower. But many lake balls are in surprisingly good shape, especially if they haven't been underwater for long. We evaluate each one individually.

What about X-out or practice balls stamped by manufacturers?

We buy X-outs and factory seconds. These are balls that didn't pass the manufacturer's quality check but are still perfectly usable. They're worth a bit less than their retail counterparts, but we still pay fair prices for them.

Do you buy refinished or refurbished golf balls?

Generally, no. Refinished balls have been repainted or recoated, which makes it hard to assess the original condition and model. If you're unsure whether your balls are refinished, send us a photo and we'll let you know.

Do older model golf balls have less value?

It depends on the model. A five-year-old Pro V1 is still worth buying. Very old or discontinued value-brand balls may not be worth much, but premium models hold their value well over time. When in doubt, include them in your quote request and we'll let you know.

How much does condition affect the price I get?

Condition does play a role in the overall value of a lot. But you don't need to worry about sorting or grading — just send us the mix and we'll take care of everything. Check our value guide for more info on how conditions work.

What about balls that have turned yellow?

Yellowed or sun-faded balls are still accepted. They typically fall into the Fair or Practice grade depending on severity, but we'll still make an offer on them.

Special Situations

Found balls, estate collections, logo balls, and more.

Can I sell golf balls I found on the course?

Yes, and many of our sellers do exactly that. If you regularly find balls while playing or walking courses, those balls have real value. Just collect them up and request a quote when you have a good batch.

I inherited a large collection of golf balls. Can you help?

Absolutely. Estate and inherited collections are some of our favorite purchases. We can work with you or an estate executor to assess the value and make a fair offer. If the collection is local to Athens, GA, we may even be able to arrange a pickup. Just email us at sales@sellmygolfballs.com to get started.

Do you buy logo or corporate-branded golf balls?

Yes. Logo balls — balls with a company or tournament logo printed on them — are still usable and have value. They're typically priced slightly below non-logo equivalents since some buyers prefer clean balls, but we still want them.

What about driving range balls?

We generally don't buy range balls — the ones with a colored stripe and "RANGE" or "PRACTICE" printed on them. These are constructed differently and aren't suitable for resale as playing balls. However, premium balls that happen to be used on a range (like Pro V1s) are still fair game.

Can I sell a mixed bag of different brands and conditions?

Yes. Mixed lots are very common and we handle them all the time. You don't need to separate everything perfectly. A rough sort helps us quote faster, but we'll work with whatever you send.

I manage a golf course with balls to sell. Do you work with courses?

Yes. We work with golf courses, driving ranges, and maintenance teams across the country. If you have a recurring supply, we can set up a standing relationship with regular pickups or shipments. Reach out at sales@sellmygolfballs.com to discuss volume pricing.

Do you buy colored golf balls (yellow, orange, etc.)?

Yes. Colored golf balls have become increasingly popular and we buy them in all the same brands and conditions as white balls. Titleist AVX in yellow, Callaway Supersoft in orange — they all have value.

I have thousands of golf balls. Do you offer bulk pricing?

Yes. Larger quantities often qualify for better per-ball pricing because shipping becomes more efficient at scale. If you have 1,000+ balls, mention it in your quote request and we'll put together a competitive bulk offer.

What about new, unused golf balls still in the box?

We buy those too, and they command the highest prices. New-in-box balls from current or recent model years are the most valuable items we purchase. Definitely include them in your quote.

About Us

Who we are, where we are, and how we operate.

Where are you located?

We're based in Athens, Georgia. All shipments come to our facility there. However, we buy from sellers in all 50 states — location doesn't matter since we provide free shipping. Learn more on our About page.

Do you buy from all 50 states?

Yes. We provide free UPS shipping labels to sellers anywhere in the United States. Whether you're in Maine or California, the process is exactly the same.

How long have you been in business?

We've purchased over 3 million golf balls and paid out more than $500,000 to sellers nationwide. We've been doing this long enough to know exactly what every brand, model, and condition is worth.

What do you do with the golf balls you buy?

We clean, grade, and resell them to golfers looking for affordable, high-quality used balls. It's a win for sellers who get cash and a win for buyers who get premium balls at a fraction of retail. It's also better for the environment than letting perfectly good balls sit in a landfill.

How do I know I can trust you?

We've paid out over $500,000 to sellers across all 50 states. We provide tracking on every shipment, transparent pricing with no hidden fees, and multiple payment options. Our process is designed to be low-risk for sellers — if you don't like our final offer, we ship the balls back free of charge.

What is the best way to contact you?

Email us at sales@sellmygolfballs.com or use the quote form on our homepage. We respond to all inquiries within 24 hours.

Do you buy golf clubs or other golf equipment?

Not at this time. We specialize exclusively in golf balls, which allows us to offer the best prices and fastest service in that niche.
